Muir Omni Graphics was awarded a Gold Incident Rate Excellence award from the Iowa-Illinois Safety Council during their 59th Annual Professional Development Conference and Expo held in Dubuque, Iowa, April 25-27, 2012. The award was presented for outstanding achievement in accident prevention during the 2011 calendar year.
Muir Omni Graphics was one of over 170 businesses, industries and government agencies in Illinois and Iowa to receive an award for promoting active safety programs and reducing OSHA recordable injuries among their employees. To qualify for this award, applicants had to demonstrate an incident rate lower than the national average for their specific industry. As a recipient of a Gold Award, Muir Omni Graphics achieved an Incident Rate of less than 25% of the National Average for their North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) category.
“It gives me great pleasure to accept the Gold Incident Rate Excellence Award on behalf of Muir Omni Graphics,” said Rebecca Zentko, Environmental Health and Safety Director of Muir Omni Graphics. “The MUIR Omni Graphics Safety Team plays an important role by promoting safety initiatives and accident prevention programs company-wide and employees, in turn, successfully integrate those safe practices into their work practices. It’s a winning combination.”
