In the world of graphic applications, proper adhesion can be the difference between a satisfied client and the costs of a reprint and reinstallation. Better understanding of the surface to which you are installing graphics and the adhesive options available for the graphics are crucial to assure satisfaction in the overall application and avoid costly re-engineering. Adhesion failure regarding graphic applications may take many forms but most often pertains to product mismatch or improper surface preparation.
Undesired adhesion quality is most often a result of surface tension regarding the application surface. Plastics and textured surfaces carry a low surface tension rating while standard painted metals and glass have a high surface tension.

OEM has communicated issues with adhesion of our standard decal product adhering to a new surface location involving application to Fabric. “Is there an alternative product designed specifically for adhesion to Fabric materials?”
We have multiple material suppliers that we work with on a regular basis. We have investigated and a couple options are available. One would be our same standard vinyl but special coated with an alternative adhesive that is specifically designed for Fabric adhesion. This solution is possible, but may require minimum purchase quantities do to custom design. There is also an option that would include a specific adhesive backed 3 mil polypropylene substrate that comes as a stock option from one of our supplier designed for specific fabric application. We would be happy to provide samples for testing prior to making a final change to the end product requirements.
